Neglect and Bed Bugs: The Tragic Death of a Georgia Inmate.

An independent autopsy has found that a man who died in a Georgia jail was a victim of "severe neglect" by jail staff. LaShawn Thompson, who had diagnosed mental health issues, was found unresponsive and covered in bug bites in his cell three months after his arrest on a misdemeanor battery charge. The autopsy, paid for by Colin Kaepernick, found that Thompson was not receiving medication for schizophrenia and suffered from poor living conditions, poor grooming, dehydration, and rapid weight loss. Attorneys for Thompson's family are calling for criminal negligence charges.
