NYC Mom Charged with Abusing Surviving Children After Daughter's Fatal Beating

Lynija Eason, a Bronx mother who was questioned about her daughter Jalayah Eason's death, has been charged with two counts of child endangerment for allegedly abusing her other two children. Jalayah was found unconscious and covered in bruises in the family apartment and later died in the hospital. Eason has not been charged in Jalayah's death, which is yet to be ruled a homicide. The apartment was found to be squalid, with insects infesting the home, and the place smelling of urine and feces. The other two children are safe and under investigation by the Administration for Children's Services.
