Ohio Teen Sentenced to Write Book Report on WWII Hero After Planning Synagogue Attack

A 13-year-old boy from Ohio who planned a mass shooting at a synagogue has been sentenced to read a biography of Carl Lutz, a Swiss diplomat who saved over 62,000 Hungarian Jews during World War II, and write a book report about it. The teenager pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of inducing panic and disorderly conduct. He was also given a 90-day suspended sentence, a year of probation, and restrictions on internet usage. The FBI was alerted to the boy's plans through the social media platform Discord, and an investigation revealed a detailed plan for the attack. The boy's family attributed his actions to the influence of older individuals on Discord.
