Owasso timeline ties June child-sex probe to July murder-suicide

Owasso police released a timeline linking a June investigation into alleged inappropriate sexual contact by a traveling basketball coach to a July 23 murder-suicide involving the same suspect, Jeremiah Duffey. The June case, involving a juvenile and a parent and conducted in Indian Country, was referred to federal authorities under the Federal Major Crimes Act, ending Owasso’s jurisdiction. Duffey’s estranged wife, Sara Duffey, had a protective order against him; she and Jeremiah Duffey were found dead in what police believe was a murder-suicide. No violations of the protective order were reported before the July 23 incident, and the team involved was not affiliated with Owasso Public Schools.
