A Georgia couple has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and child cruelty after their 10-year-old son was found wandering the streets, weighing only 36 pounds. Neighbors say they sensed something was wrong with the family and regret not noticing the abuse. The parents allegedly locked the boy inside his bedroom for extended periods of time, withholding necessities like food, clothing, and human interaction. The child is being treated for malnutrition and a low heart rate, and his four siblings have been placed in the custody of the state Department of Family and Children’s Services.
