Rapid Rise of Crime in Memphis Claims Innocent Victim

A man who recently moved to Memphis for work became a victim of a car break-in outside Dick's Sporting Goods on North Germantown Parkway. Thieves broke into his pickup truck and ransacked it, but did not take anything. Another truck in the parking lot was also targeted, resulting in the theft of $3,000 and a handgun. The man was fortunate that his valuable tools in the back of his truck were not taken. Memphis has seen a significant increase in car break-ins this year compared to the same period last year. Police have not provided a description of the suspects, and no video footage is available.
