McFadden had sent a Facebook message to a woman who was set to testify against him in a child sex abuse trial, blaming her for continuing the case against him. The woman, Kaitlyn Babb, had been lured into a predatory relationship with McFadden as a teenager and had reported him to the authorities. The failure of prosecutors to try the case signaled a miscarriage in the state’s justice system, according to Babb.
