Tragic Murder of Philadelphia Journalist in His Home

Freelance journalist Josh Kruger, known for his work with The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Philadelphia Citizen, was shot and killed in his South Philadelphia home. The police have not made any arrests and no weapon has been found. Kruger had recently written about various topics including education, public art, and LGBTQ+ issues. He had previously worked for the Philadelphia city government and used his personal experiences with homelessness, addiction, and trauma to inform his journalism. The police believe an intruder entered his home, shot him, and Kruger then went outside seeking help before collapsing. The investigation is ongoing.
