Trooper Shot by Stranded Motorist He Tried to Help

A North Carolina state trooper who stopped to help a stranded motorist on the interstate was shot by the driver, but returned fire and killed him. The trooper, Jeffrey Dunlap, was wearing a bulletproof vest and was unharmed. The driver, Wesley Scott Taylor, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is being investigated by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
