Carlos Reales Dominguez, the former UC Davis student charged with murder in a stabbing spree in California, appeared disheveled in court after not showering for three months and going on a hunger strike. His attorney claims Dominguez began showing signs of schizophrenia, while prosecutors argue that he is intentionally acting unfit for trial. The jury will determine if Dominguez is mentally competent to participate in a criminal trial. The wave of attacks began with the fatal stabbing of a homeless man known as the "Compassion Guy" and a UC Davis student. Dominguez was arrested in May and is currently on suicide watch.
