University of Florida Scientists Arrested for Locking Kids in Cages While at Work

Two scientists from the University of Florida were arrested after allegedly leaving their children, ages 6 and 2, in small cages while they went to work. The couple showed the homemade cages to the police, seemingly considering it normal. The children reported being confined in the cages for extended periods, including overnight. The scientists have been charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect, and the university has placed them on administrative leave. The children are now in the custody of vetted family members.
