"University of Florida Scientists Face Arrest for Leaving Children in Cages During Work Hours"

Two scientists from the University of Florida, Dustin Huff and Yurui Xie, were arrested for allegedly leaving their children, ages 6 and 2, in small cages while they went to work. The couple showed the homemade cages to the police during a search of their property. The children reported being confined in the cages for extended periods, including overnight. The University of Florida has placed the couple on administrative leave, and the children have been placed in the custody of vetted family members. Huff and Xie have been charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect.
