Widow of Cal Fire captain gets 36-to-life for fatal stabbing

Yolanda Marodi, 54, was sentenced to 36 years to life after pleading guilty to second-degree murder for fatally stabbing her wife, Cal Fire Captain Rebecca Marodi, in February 2025. She also admitted a prior voluntary manslaughter conviction. The case included evidence that Rebecca wanted to leave the marriage, including messages and Ring camera footage; Marodi fled to Mexico before being arrested.
