Deaf Michigan man wins Supreme Court case against school.

The US Supreme Court has ruled unanimously in favor of a 27-year-old Michigan man, Miguel Luna Perez, who is seeking compensatory damages from Sturgis Public Schools for not providing him with an appropriate education for more than a decade. Luna Perez, who is deaf, was denied regular access to qualified interpreters for 12 years despite a recommendation he be taught American Sign Language. The decision allows him to move forward with his claim in federal court after lower courts had ruled against him.
