Iowa Department of Education sees leadership changes with new appointment and resignation.

Iowa Department of Education director Chad Aldis has resigned for family reasons, and Gov. Kim Reynolds has appointed McKenzie Snow, a former Trump official and "school choice" advocate, as the new director. Snow will oversee the state's new education savings accounts program and other significant changes to Iowa education, including a ban on school books with sex acts and restrictions on LGBTQ-related instruction. She has served in several state and federal education policy positions and worked for the Foundation for Excellence in Education, a think tank founded by Republican Jeb Bush.
