"Maryland School Report Card 2023: Baltimore's Best Schools Revealed"
TL;DR
Maryland's School Report Card for 2023 reveals that only one middle school and 10 high schools in the Baltimore area received a five-star rating, indicating that five-star ratings were harder to come by this year. The pandemic-related issue of chronic absenteeism affected school ratings, prompting the Maryland State Department of Education to temporarily change its rating formula. Howard County had the highest proportion of five-star schools, but the number decreased compared to the previous year.
