"Recent School Closures and Updates: January 17-19, 2024"
TL;DR
CPS district will be closed on Thursday, January 18th due to concerns about freezing precipitation, icy road conditions, and student safety. The district needs temperatures to rise well above freezing for an extended period of time and very bright sunshine to consider reopening on Friday, with a warning that the icepack on side streets and rural roads will not disappear quickly.
