Transgender Student Denied Graduation Dress Code Appeal in Mississippi

A Mississippi high school boy who identifies as a girl was told he had to wear boy's clothes to his graduation, sparking a lawsuit by his family and the ACLU. The school district superintendent said the boy had to "dress like a boy" at the graduation, wearing a white button-down shirt, tie and black slacks. The boy's family argued that he identifies as female every day and had worn girl's attire to school before. The judge denied the request, stating that the school's dress code policy was the status quo.
