Matthew Perry's Cause of Death: Medical Examiner Reveals Ketamine as the Culprit

The autopsy report for actor Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing on the sitcom "Friends," reveals that he died from the acute effects of the anesthetic ketamine. The report also states that Perry drowned in the heated end of his pool, but it was considered a secondary factor in his accidental death. Perry had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for depression and anxiety, but the levels of ketamine in his body were higher than expected for the treatment. Other contributing factors included coronary artery disease and buprenorphine, used to treat opioid use disorder. Mixing sedative drugs in a pool alone was deemed extremely risky. Perry had been clean for 19 months prior to his death and had no recent alcohol or drug use.
