Biden Prioritizes Environmental Justice with Executive Orders and New Office.

President Biden has announced the creation of a White House Office of Environmental Justice, which will address the disproportionate impact of pollution and climate change on minority communities. The executive order requires every federal agency to develop plans to address the issue and report their progress. It also directs agencies to address gaps in data regarding the cumulative effects of pollution on communities of color, among other things. Decades of research has shown that nonwhite and poor people are most affected by environmental hazards.
