Canadian Wildfires: Progress and Challenges.

While the haze is clearing in the northeastern United States, wildfires in Canada continue to rage on with no end in sight. Over 420 active fires are burning across Canada, with more than half remaining uncontrolled. Although light showers early next week may offer some relief, meteorologists are unsure how long the fires will continue to scorch parts of Canada. Cooler temperatures could mean the fires won’t spread as fast, but drier-than-normal conditions are also expected across most of the regions where fires are burning. Canada is expected to experience its worst wildfire season in recorded history, with more bouts of intense smog anticipated throughout the summer months.
