Guilty plea and euthanasia follow Yellowstone bison encounter.

Clifford Walters pleaded guilty to intentionally disturbing wildlife after pushing a newborn bison calf onto a roadway in Yellowstone National Park, causing it to be euthanized. Walters was charged a $500 fine, a $500 community service payment to Yellowstone Forever Wildlife Protection Fund, a $30 special assessment, and a $10 processing fee. Park regulations state that people need to stay at least 25 yards away from bison, elk, and most other wildlife, and 100 yards away from bears and wolves.
