Improving Air Quality Forecast for NJ and NYC Ahead of Warm Weekend.

Smoke from Canadian wildfires that caused the worst air quality in New Jersey in decades is diminishing, with nearly all of it expected to be gone by Saturday. Air quality index readings in the state are mostly either in the “moderate” range or classified as “unhealthy for sensitive groups.” The state Department of Environmental Protection says air quality alerts remain in effect through midnight tonight for all 21 counties. The weather is expected to be warm and sunny over the weekend, with a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
