Rare Wolverine Sighted in California Wilderness After Nearly a Century

Scientists have verified three rare wolverine sightings in California, marking only the second time in a century the animal has been spotted in the state. Wolverines are typically found in Alaska and Canada, with some smaller populations in the Rocky and Cascade mountain ranges. The animal is listed as a threatened species under California’s Endangered Species Act and is being considered for addition to the US list of endangered and threatened species.
