Nurses and Boyfriend Save Lives in Mid-Flight and Workplace Emergencies

A nurse and her boyfriend saved the life of a man who had stopped breathing on a Southwest Airlines flight to Baltimore. Emily Raines and Daniel Shifflett performed chest compressions for 20 minutes before successfully stabilizing the passenger roughly seven minutes before landing. Other passengers high-fived the couple after they saved the man's life. The passenger was rushed to the hospital by emergency personnel upon landing, and his wife later thanked Raines for saving his life.
