Wes Samuelson and his child Liz moved to Minnesota from Wyoming to access gender-affirming care. Minnesota has passed an executive order to guarantee access to care for trans adults and youth, and the state House passed a bill to make sure that’s the law. The Minnesota Senate will consider a bill with the same objective. Pediatrician Dr. Angela Kade Goepferd of Children’s Minnesota hospital system said access to gender-affirming care and supportive families improves mental health outcomes for kids.
