Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman opened up about his struggle with depression in his first TV interview since being hospitalized for six weeks for major depression. Fetterman, who had already been recovering from a stroke, said he stopped eating, couldn't get out of bed, and felt indifferent about life. He is now in remission and spending time with his family. Fetterman's depression was treated with medication, and he read a book about depression to better understand the disorder. He plans to return to the Senate when the chamber is back in session.
