Long COVID patients struggle to find recognition and treatment within the fragmented US healthcare system. Many patients feel adrift in the healthcare system and face medical gaslighting when they are told that their symptoms are "just anxiety." Post-COVID care centers are not all built equally, and many have found the focus is more on research than on treating patients in the here and now. The government should prioritize care delivery over research and fund centers of excellence in long COVID care.
