Ukrainian Counteroffensive Gains Momentum: Blinken

Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that Ukraine's military is making "very tangible progress" in its counteroffensive against Russian forces, emphasizing ongoing U.S. support for Ukraine. Blinken acknowledged the challenge of maintaining public attention on the conflict and placed the blame for the lack of peace talks on the Kremlin. He visited Yahidne, Ukraine, where he toured a former elementary school turned museum that had been occupied by Russian forces. Blinken announced a new package of U.S. wartime assistance worth over $1 billion, including funds for munitions, military financing, humanitarian aid, anti-corruption reforms, and strengthening the justice sector. Despite criticism and doubts about Ukraine's ability to win a decisive military victory, Blinken affirmed the U.S.'s commitment to supporting Ukraine.
