US Senators Request Additional Iron Dome Batteries for Israel

A bipartisan group of senators, led by Sen. Jacky Rosen, has sent a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin requesting the immediate transfer of two Iron Dome batteries to Israel to help protect its citizens from rocket attacks by Hamas. The senators believe that Israel urgently requires additional missile defense capacity and implore the Defense Secretary to provide other defensive assets as well. President Joe Biden has also pledged to send Iron Dome interceptors to replenish Israel's depleted stockpiles. The Iron Dome system has been highly effective in intercepting rockets, with a success rate of 95.6% during recent attacks.
