"Colorado family awarded $19 million in fatal police shooting settlement"

The family of Christian Glass, a Colorado man who was fatally shot by a deputy after calling 911 for help when his SUV got stuck in a pile of rocks, will receive a $19 million settlement, the largest of its kind in state history. The settlement comes after Glass was shot five times by a Clear Creek County sheriff’s deputy after refusing to get out of his car for nearly 70 minutes. The settlement also includes changes in training for law enforcement agencies and the establishment of a dedicated crisis response team. Two deputies involved in the shooting were indicted by a grand jury in November.
