Officer who killed Breonna Taylor hired by nearby police force.

Myles Cosgrove, the former Louisville police officer who shot and killed Breonna Taylor in March 2020, has been hired by the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, an hour's drive northeast of Louisville. The hiring has been criticized by Black Lives Matter Louisville, who said it showed the impunity often afforded to law enforcement. Cosgrove was fired by the Louisville Metro Police Department in January 2021 for violating department procedures on the use of deadly force and not wearing a body camera during the raid. He appealed his case to get his job back in November 2021, but ultimately the court upheld the department's decision to terminate.
