Wrongfully convicted man released after decades in prison.

Barry Jones has been released from death row in Arizona after serving 29 years for a crime he did not commit. Jones was found guilty of fatally assaulting a 4-year-old child in 1994, but compelling medical evidence proved his innocence. Despite a 2018 federal court order to vacate his convictions, the US Supreme Court ignored its own precedent and said federal courts had no power to consider his case. The State of Arizona was still able to reconsider the new evidence, and Jones agreed to plead guilty to second-degree murder. This marks the 12th time an inmate on Arizona's death row has been exonerated since 1975.
