Idaho approves firing-squad executions in limited cases.

Idaho has passed a bill allowing firing squads to execute condemned inmates when lethal injection drugs are unavailable. The state previously had a firing squad option but removed it in 2009. Only four other states currently allow firing squads as an execution method. The bill was prompted by the state's inability to execute a death row inmate due to drug scarcity. The governor has not yet commented on the legislation.
