"Missouri Death Row Inmate Appeals to Supreme Court Over Legal Representation and Execution Procedure"

Attorneys for Missouri death row inmate Brian Dorsey have petitioned the US supreme court to block his execution, citing his rehabilitation and arguing that his execution would violate the eighth amendment. More than 70 correctional officers have petitioned for clemency, along with a letter from the inmate’s appeals court judge and support from former and current prison staffers. They argue that Dorsey, who was convicted for a 2006 double murder committed during a drug-induced psychosis, has been fully rehabilitated during his time on death row and should be spared from execution.
