"Introducing Thomas Morse Jr.: Baton Rouge's New Police Chief"
TL;DR
Thomas Morse Jr., a police commander with 20 years of experience, has been named Baton Rouge's next police chief, replacing Murphy Paul. The Baton Rouge Police Department has been plagued by scandal and low officer morale. Morse's appointment is seen as an opportunity for progress and transformation, with a focus on integrity, transparency, and community engagement. Morse plans to address challenges involving officer misconduct and wants to revive programs like the bait car initiative to deter crime. The transition is expected to occur in January.
