Ohio Implements New Distracted Driving Law

Ohio's new distracted driving law makes it a primary offense, allowing police to pull over motorists for texting, checking social media, or streaming videos without needing to see another traffic infraction. The law has several exceptions, including emergency calls, using navigation services, and holding a phone near your ear for a call. For the next six months, officers will only issue warnings, but after that, fines and points on licenses will be imposed for repeat offenders.
