"Alex Jones Ordered to Pay $1.1 Billion in Sandy Hook Damages Despite Bankruptcy"

Infowars founder Alex Jones has been ordered by a U.S. bankruptcy judge to pay at least $1.1 billion in defamation damages related to his false claims about the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school massacre. The judge ruled that bankruptcy cannot be used to escape debts resulting from "willful or malicious injury." While some parts of the damages, including attorneys' fees, may be discharged, a trial will be held to determine the precise amount. Jones has already been found liable for defaming the parents of a Sandy Hook victim and could face two more defamation trials.
