Fox News Settles with Dominion, Braces for Lawsuit from Smartmatic

Fox News is preparing to defend itself against a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit brought by Smartmatic, a voting machine company, following a $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems. Smartmatic reaffirmed its commitment to the lawsuit, stating that it will expose the rest of the damage caused by Fox's disinformation campaign. Fox responded by saying that Smartmatic's damages claims are implausible and disconnected from reality. At least seven defamation lawsuits involving Fox News or Dominion Voting Systems remain related to claims that were broadcast surrounding the 2020 election.
