"Teen Sues Classmate Over Fake AI Nude Spread"

A 15-year-old New Jersey high school student is suing a classmate for using an AI app to create and distribute deepfake nude images of her and several other minor girls, originally taken from their social media accounts. The lawsuit seeks $150,000 per image, an injunction, and a temporary restraining order. The defendant's lawyer argues that AI-generated images are not federally justiciable, while the plaintiff's lawyer hopes the case will demonstrate a way for victims to protect themselves from nonconsensual AI pornography. Both parties are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14.
