Otter attack during Lake Tahoe swim leaves woman injured

A woman swimming near Hidden Beach at Lake Tahoe was attacked underwater by an otter, suffering cuts to her face, arms and legs that required 22 stitches and a rabies vaccination. She exited the water and went to the hospital as authorities searched for the otter but could not locate it. The incident is the second otter attack at Lake Tahoe this summer, with otters generally being rare but potentially dangerous wildlife in the area.
