Three dead after Bowie park plane crash; investigators probe training flight

Three adults were killed when a single-engine Piper PA-28 plane crashed in Archer Park in Bowie, Maryland, around 11:30 p.m. on June 20 while en route from Ocean City to Montgomery County Airpark. The aircraft was found about 3:45 a.m. the next day; the victims were the pilot and two passengers, identities to be released after next of kin notification. A large multi-agency response followed, and the NTSB and FAA are leading the investigation. The plane is believed to belong to a local flight school, and no nearby residents were hurt.
