Two Dead, Ten Injured in Overnight Amarillo Shooting at Westminster Apartments

An overnight shooting at the Westminster Apartments in Amarillo left two people dead and ten others injured. Police responded around 2 a.m. to the Coulter Street/Westgate Parkway complex, found multiple cartridge casings, and recovered a Glock 9mm handgun from a landing outside Apartment 244. One victim was identified as Ezekiel Rudy Almazan, 17; the other victim was a 16-year-old male. Two suspects have been named but no arrests have been announced. Several victims were hospitalized in critical condition as investigators review surveillance footage and seek information from the Belmar area. The incident comes less than six weeks after a spate of shootings in March in Amarillo.
