Expert warns Fox News poses threat to US democracy with 'vitriolic lies'

Nina Jankowicz, former executive director of a Department of Homeland Security unit combatting online disinformation, is suing Fox News and its parent company for defamation, alleging that the media giant waged a campaign of "vitriolic lies" against her that amounts to a threat to democracy. Jankowicz claims that Fox's reckless disregard for the truth had implications for the future of the country. She is bringing the action with the help of a gofundme page which has so far raised almost $60,000 towards her legal fees.
