Miami Beach Implements Curfew to Address Spring Break Violence

Miami Beach has imposed an overnight curfew during spring break in response to two fatal shootings and "unruly crowds." The curfew applies to the South Beach district and will be in effect from 11:59 p.m. on Sunday night to 6 a.m. on Monday. More curfew restrictions are planned for Thursday through Monday, and the city will evaluate future curfew restrictions after the initial window. This is the third consecutive year that Miami Beach has set a curfew and issued a state of emergency during spring break festivities.
