Deadly Tornadoes Ravage Mississippi, Leaving Devastation in Their Wake

President Joe Biden declared a major disaster in Mississippi and ordered federal aid to supplement recovery efforts after a tornado ripped through the Mississippi Delta, leaving at least 25 people dead. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center warned of the possibility of more tornadoes across the central gulf states on Sunday. Recovery efforts continued as the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency urged residents to have a plan and know their safe place. The tornado received a preliminary EF-4 rating, with top wind gusts between 166mph and 200mph, and was on the ground for more than an hour, traversing at least 170 miles.
