Rain and a rainy forecast for the weekend have helped contain the wildfires in Nova Scotia, with only one remaining out of control. The fire in the Halifax area is about 85% contained, while the total number of active wildfires declined from 10 to five. The largest recorded wildfire in the province's history, the Barrington Lake wildfire, has consumed at least 50 homes and cottages, and 6,700 people remain out of their homes in Shelburne County. Schools in Shelburne County will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.
