Storms and Tornado Cause Extensive Damage in Grand Rapids and West Michigan

An EF1 tornado touched down near Grand Rapids, Michigan, causing damage to homes and downing trees. The tornado traveled for 8.7 miles with winds estimated at up to 110 mph. No injuries or deaths were reported. The storm also caused power outages for over 200,000 Consumers Energy customers, with restoration expected by Sunday night. Another EF2 tornado was confirmed in eastern Ingham County, resulting in overturned semi-trucks and car crashes, as well as one fatality.
