"Wildfires Prompt State of Emergency in Eastern Kentucky, Urgent Animal Survival Tips Issued"

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has declared a state of emergency as wildfires continue to grow and threaten residents and property in Eastern Kentucky. The Kentucky Department of Forestry is currently working on 31 active fires totaling nearly 9,200 acres across multiple counties. More than 300 fire personnel are on the front lines, with additional assistance being coordinated from forestry services in Idaho, Oregon, and Utah. The state's anti-price gouging laws have been activated to protect residents, and state resources can be activated as needed.
