Abortion Access and Public Opinion in the US: A Year After Roe's Demise.

A new report from the Pew Research Center shows that more adults living in states where abortion is banned or restricted believe that access to abortion should be easier. The report also found that overall support for abortion is up since 1995, but most of that change comes from an increase in support from Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents. Republican support for abortion saw a much smaller increase in support. As support for abortion access increases, lawmakers, particularly Republicans, have become more divided over how to handle the issue.
